Tinker Tank is exactly what it sounds like. It is an open source workspace for tinkerers in Miami. Inspired by Tinker People worldwide, and the common knowledge that funding for shop, etc. in public schools has been cut, Tinker Tank is setting out to create engineers in everyone.

My creativity is starting to starve. I want, I need to find people in my area to build electronics with. I would love to come out and visit but the distance is a decent travel. So my only other option is to start a Hackspace in the Fort Lauderdale area. I was curious if anyone have ever heard someone else talk about wanting one in this area of southern FL? Also any kind of helpful information on estimated costs and possible permits and people to talk to would be greatly appreciated.

Hi – Yes, we still exist and are in fact having an open-house Show & Tell at O-Cinema every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 11:30-2:30PM . Hope you can make it.
